Mervyn Tang will join Schroders as head of sustainability strategy, Asia-Pacific, in the firm's recently launched regional center of excellence for sustainability in Singapore.
The position is new.
Mr. Tang, who starts July 27, will report to Roy Diao, head of Asian fixed income, and Lily Choh, country head for Singapore, with a functional reporting line to Hannah Simons, the firm's London-based head of sustainability strategy.
Mr. Tang previously served as global head of ESG research in the sustainable finance division at Fitch Ratings.
A Fitch spokeswoman said Marina Petroleka will succeed Mr. Tang in that role.
Schroders also appointed Wong Dan Chi as head of ESG integration, Asia-Pacific.
In the new position, Ms. Wong will work with the head of Schroders' different Asia-Pacific investment desks "to drive further integration of Schroders' proprietary sustainability research and tools into the overall investment processes," according to a news release.
Ms. Wong was promoted from her prior ESG specialist role with the firm. She won't be replaced, a spokeswoman said.
Ms. Wong will report to Stephanie Chang, the firm's London-based head of ESG integration.
