Rachel Whittaker was named head of sustainable investment research for Robeco, the Rotterdam, Netherlands-based asset manager said Tuesday.
Ms. Whittaker will be based in Zurich and start Sept. 1. She will report locally to David Hrdina, executive committee chairman of Robeco Switzerland, and functionally to Carola van Lamoen, head of the Sustainable Investing Center of Expertise. She replaces Michael van der Meer, who became head of ESG analysis for Credit Suisse in January.
Ms. Whittaker is returning to Robeco where she worked from 2015 to 2017. Since then she has been a sustainable investment strategist in UBS' CIO office. Information about her replacement wasn't immediately available.
Michael Baldinger, acting head of sustainable investments at UBS, was previously CEO of Robeco subsidiary SAM.
Robeco also added three researchers to its sustainable investment research team: Giulia Schettino, Ally Wong, and Federico Silvano. Mr. Silvano worked for Allianz Global Investors, while Ms. Schettino and Ms. Silvano were with UBS.
Robeco had €176 billion ($216.2 billion) in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
