Kelly Hagg has joined Nuveen as senior managing director, head of responsible investing strategy and solutions.
Mr. Hagg will be based in Denver and report to Amy O'Brien, global head of responsible investing, according to an internal memo distributed to Nuveen associates Tuesday and provided to Pensions & Investments.
In this newly created role, Mr. Hagg will be "responsible for driving firm-wide coordination and alignment of resources in support of RI commercialization initiatives," the memo said. He will "assume management of the RI content strategy and data teams" and also "lead the delivery of distinct, value-added capabilities that create stronger relationships with existing clients while attracting new ones and expanding market share," the memo added.
Mr. Hagg was global head of product strategy and ESG at Janus Henderson Investors. A spokeswoman for Janus Henderson said in an email that "over the past several weeks, Kelly has ensured a thorough transition of his role to various members of the product team, who will take on his responsibilities moving forward in the near term. Long-term plans for the position are still under consideration. We are confident that with the breadth of experience and expertise across our product team, we will see no disruption to our cohesive approach to ESG or product strategy."
Nuveen had $1.1 trillion in assets under management as of June 30.
