Chitra Hepburn joined MSCI Inc. as head of environmental, social and governance client coverage for the Asia-Pacific region.
The Shanghai-based role is a new one at MSCI, a spokeswoman for the firm said.
Ms. Hepburn comes to MSCI from ESG Global, where she served as a managing director, advising corporate clients on ESG strategies.
The decision to base Ms. Hepburn in Shanghai for a regional role reflects the growing focus for investors of ESG in China, the spokeswoman said in an email. Having her "on the ground will facilitate MSCI's support to the growing client base in China and the broader APAC region," she said.
