Rahul Ghosh was appointed global head of sustainability at Moody’s Ratings, according to a post on the firm's official LinkedIn page.
Ghosh is responsible for Moody's Ratings’ strategy to incorporate ESG factors, including climate considerations, into credit ratings, analytics, research and outreach. He is expected to start in the new role immediately.
He will also lead analytical teams that produce assessments on the credentials of sustainable debt instruments and financing frameworks, and the strength of entities’ carbon transition plans.
“Working with such a passionate, curious and diverse team is a tremendous privilege. Together, we will tackle some of the most complex and critical risks facing global credit markets," Ghosh said in the post.
Ghosh replaces Brian Cahill, who will become vice chair for Moody’s Ratings within the Asia-Pacific region.
Ghosh was the managing director for sustainable finance at Moody’s Ratings, working in this position from January 2024.
