Paul LaCoursiere was named global head of environmental, social and governance investments at Janus Henderson effective Jan. 6, a spokesman said.
The role is new. Based in London, Mr. LaCoursiere will drive the integration of ESG across the firm's strategies, reporting to Enrique Chang, global CIO.
"With Paul's hire, Janus Henderson is demonstrating how seriously we take ESG considerations. Paul augments our existing strong capabilities with his experience and leadership skills which will further embed ESG capabilities within our investment philosophies," Mr. Chang said in a news release Tuesday.
Mr. LaCoursiere was global head of ESG research at Aviva Investors. A spokesman said the firm's ESG corporate research team now will report to Mirza Baig, global head of governance and stewardship.
Janus Henderson had $358.3 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
