Hiroshi Komori, former head of stewardship and ESG for Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund, is one of three appointments to the International Sustainability Standards Board, parent organization IFRS Foundation said Tuesday.
Mr. Komori was senior director and head of the ¥193 trillion ($1.41 trillion) pension fund's stewardship and ESG division until March.
Also appointed were Jenny Bofinger-Schuster, senior vice president for sustainability and operational excellence with Siemens, and Veronika Pountcheva. senior vice president of corporate responsibility for German corporation METRO.
IFRS Foundation trustees chairman Erkki Liikanen said in a news release that the latest appointments give ISSB a geographically balanced board with a broad range of expertise as it works to develop standards for corporate sustainability disclosures.
