The CFA Institute has launched the U.K. edition of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Code for the investment industry, the organization said Oct. 11.
Signatory firms commit to six metrics-based principles to increase diversity in the industry, including expanding the diverse talent pipeline, diverse hiring, promotion and retention practices, leadership, influence and measuring and reporting on progress.
The CFA Institute launched the code in the U.S. and Canada in 2022. Since then, it has been adopted by more than 160 investment organizations representing $18.3 trillion in assets, roughly 19% of the investment industry's global assets under management.
President and CEO Margaret Franklin said in the announcement that the U.K. initiative "is in recognition that DEI means different things to different people in different markets."
