Christine Chow was appointed head of active ownership and managing director at Credit Suisse Asset Management, effective April 1, a spokesman confirmed.
Ms. Chow replaces Stephan Scharrer, who was appointed to a newly created role of head of governance and proxy voting, the spokesman added.
Ms. Chow will be based in London and report to Jeroen Bos, global head of sustainable investing. She will focus on further accelerating the 411 billion Swiss franc ($443.5 billion) firm's efforts in voting and engagement across all asset classes. She will work alongside Dominik Scheck, head of ESG integration, and Nisha Long, head of sustainability research.
Ms. Chow was head of stewardship at HSBC Asset Management. A spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment regarding any replacement.
