Adam Heltzer was named managing director and head of environmental, social and governance at Ares Management Corp., company spokesman Bill Mendel confirmed.
Effective April 1, Mr. Heltzer will lead the firm's global ESG initiatives, and advise Ares on creating new corporate ESG policies and ESG-related investment strategies. He will be based in New York and report to Michael Arougheti, Ares CEO and president.
Mr. Heltzer was head of ESG and sustainability at Partners Group. Though there are no immediate plans to replace him, the firm intends to expand its ESG capabilities in the future, said Partners Group spokeswoman Clare Burrows.
Ares Management had $149 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
