Silvio Lima was named head of corporate affairs, ESG and community engagement at Appian Capital Advisory.
It is a new position, a spokesman said in an email. Based in London and Brazil, Mr. Lima will provide Appian's private equity fund investment adviser business's investment committee with ESG and community engagement-related perspectives, according to a news release Monday.
Mr. Lima is currently director of corporate affairs and people at Appian Capital Brazil, an energy transition-focused subsidiary, and will continue in dual roles until that subsidiary's asset bases of nickel and copper are sold, the spokesman said.
Appian Capital Advisory focuses on long-term value-focused private equity funds that invest solely in mining and mining-related companies.
