James Barty was named director of investments strategy at the £8 billion ($10 billion) Church Commissioners for England, London, according to a news release.
The position is new. Effective July 24, Mr. Barty will join the investment team and report to Tom Joy, chief investment officer.
Mr. Barty was global head of cross asset strategy and European strategy at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. It could not be learned if he was replaced. Spokeswoman Liz Wright could not be immediately reached for comment.
A spokesman for the Church Commissioners did not immediately return a phone call seeking additional information.
