University of Virginia Investment Management Co., Charlottesville, is looking for a director of investments to manage absolute return and credit.
The $9.6 billion pool of endowment assets and other long-term funds returned 5.8% in the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019, compared with its benchmark return of 7.9% over the same period, according to an annual report posted on UVIMCO's website. Over the 10-year period, the long-term pool returned an annualized 11%, compared with a benchmark return of 9.2%.
According to a job posting, UVIMCO has 40 full-time staff. The investment team includes the CEO/CIO, five managing directors, one director, and several associates and analysts.
The director of investments will report directly to CEO/CIO Robert Durden. The director's primary responsibility will be managing absolute return and credit. Further details on the position were not available.
