University of Wisconsin-Madison's $4 billion endowment returned a net 28.7% for the fiscal year ended June 30.
The endowment's return for the period exceeded its benchmark return of 27.5%, said Tod Pritchard, spokesman for the Wisconsin Foundation & Alumni Association, which oversees the endowment.
For the three, five and 10 years ended June 30, the endowment returned an annualized net 10.9%, 11.2% and 8.3%, respectively, compared to the respective benchmarks of 11.9%, 11.3% and 8.4%.
The endowment had returned a net 1.2% for the year ended June 30, 2020.
For the most recent fiscal year, the foundation will release asset allocation and asset class return information in its annual report in early 2022, Mr. Pritchard said.
