University of Utah, Salt Lake City, is searching for a new chief investment officer/associate vice president for investments.
The university posted a job listing for the position on its website Wednesday for someone to lead its investment office, which oversees the university's $1 billion endowment along with its operating funds.
The university in February had issued an RFP for an executive search firm to assist it in the search for a new CIO as a result of Jonathan Shear's plan to retire.
Mr. Shear, who has been CIO for the university since 2003, had announced a retirement date of July 1. Mr. Shear, who is still listed on its website as CIO, and university spokeswoman Rebecca Walsh, could not be immediately reached for further information.
