University of Illinois Foundation's $2.6 billion endowment pool returned a net 33.9% for the fiscal year ended June 30.
The endowment's return was well above its 28% benchmark for the period, according to a news release Friday from the Urbana-based foundation.
In a video posted on the foundation's website, Edward "Ned" Creeden, interim chief investment officer, also provided additional return information.
For the three, five and 10 years ended June 30, the endowment pool returned an annualized net 10.8%, 11.3% and 8.4%, respectively. No benchmark information was provided.
The endowment pool returned a net -2.5% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020.
A breakout of asset class returns was not provided. The endowment pool's target allocation is 53% equities, 25% fixed income, 12% real assets and 10% private equity.
