Ellen J. Ellison, chief investment officer of the University of Illinois Foundation, has left to pursue other opportunities.
Ms. Ellison, who joined the Urbana-based foundation in January 2013 to oversee its $1.9 billion endowment pool, said in a post on LinkedIn she has left to pursue other endowment and investment-related activities.
Edward "Ned" Creedon, the foundation's director of private investments, is currently serving as interim CIO, according to its website. Mr. Creedon and foundation spokeswoman Sue Johnson could not be immediately reached for further information.
"Building the first investment office in Chicago for the foundation has been one of the most rewarding professional experiences of my career, and I wish all of my colleagues continued success in the future," Ms. Ellison wrote. "Lastly, I have been gratified by the talent and devotion of the large University of Illinois alumni community who were extremely supportive of the program during my tenure."
Ms. Ellison could not be immediately reached for further details on her plans.
