University of Arkansas Foundation's $2.6 billion endowment investment pool returned a net 12.3% for the fiscal year ended June 30, according to a report on the Fayetteville-based foundation's website.
For the three, five and 10 years ended June 30, the investment pool returned an annualized net 2.4%, 9.1% and 7.8%, respectively.
The investment pool returned a net 8.2% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2023.
Benchmark information and returns by asset class were not provided in the report.
For the most recent fiscal year, the foundation’s report cited both strong equity markets as well as manager outperformance in domestic equities, emerging markets equities and fixed income for the strong double-digit returns.
The report further said that while private investments lagged public equity performance, they did outperform their benchmarks.
The foundation also outperformed the median return of 9.8% among the 54 college and university endowments with $1 billion or more in assets whose returns have been tracked by Pensions & Investments as of Dec. 4.
The endowment investment pool’s target allocation is 53% global public equity, 25% private investments, 12% hedge funds and 10% fixed income.
