Richard Chau was named chief investment officer at Tulane University.
Effective Tuesday, he replaced Jeremy Crigler, who retired in September, according to a news release Wednesday from the New Orleans-based university.
Mr. Chau had been serving as interim CIO since Mr. Crigler's retirement and previously was responsible for the management of the $1.3 billion endowment's private equity and real assets portfolios, the news release said.
University spokesman Roger Dunaway could not be immediately reached for further information.
