Robert Borden was named chief executive officer of Austin-based Texas Permanent School Fund Corp.
Borden will start Dec. 1 and succeed Britt Harris, who has served as acting CEO since July, said a Nov. 17 news release. Harris had replaced Holland Timmins, who retired.
Borden will direct investment and operations activities at the $52 billion dollar endowment fund and "will work with the corporation's nine-member governing board to facilitate strategic planning, develop policy and to set the fund's strategic asset allocation," the new release said.
Most recently, Borden was managing partner for Palmetto Research Partners, an independent financial consulting firm he founded, the release added.
He also previously was CEO and CIO of the South Carolina Investment Commission, which had $40.6 billion in assets as of June 30.
In addition, Borden served as both the executive director and CIO of the Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, which had $14.5 billion in assets as of June 30.
Texas Permanent School Fund could not be immediately reached for further details.
