University of Southern California reported its $8 billion endowment returned 43.2% for the fiscal year ended June 30.
The return exceeded its benchmark return of 26.3% for the period, according to an endowment report posted on the Los Angeles-based university's website.
For the three, five and 10 years ended June 30, the endowment returned an annualized 13.7%, 9.9% and 8.2%, respectively, above the respective benchmarks of 11.3%, 8.1% and 6.8%.
The report did not disclose returns by asset class or whether the returns were gross or net of fees. The previous fiscal year returns were not available.
As of June 30, the endowment's actual allocation was 45.5% global equities, 18.4% venture capital, 9.4% absolute return, 8.4% private equity, 5.6% natural resources, 5.2% fixed income, 4.4% real estate and the rest in cash.
