Pennsylvania State University's endowment posted a net return of 7.7% for the year ended June 30, bringing its value to $3.1 billion, according to a report by the University Park, Pa.-based school. The result is above its benchmark return of 6.9%
The endowment's annualized returns for the three, five, 10 and 20 years as of June 30 were 9.3%, 6%, 9.8% and 6.9%, respectively, vs. 9.4%, 6%, 9.3% and 6.4% for its respective benchmarks.
As of June 30, the university's endowment had an allocation of 46% equities, 20% private equity, 12% each for diversifying strategies and real assets, and 10% fixed income. Penn State didn't disclose how individual strategies performed.
The endowment posted a return of 7.8% for the year ended June 30, 2018.
