Michelle Knudsen has been named chief investment officer at New York University, responsible for the university’s $5.9 billion endowment fund, the university announced May 28.
She will join the university in late June. She replaces Kathleen Jacobs, who resigned Sept. 30.
Knudsen has been a senior portfolio manager at the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, New York, since 2019, where she was in charge of “developing and implementing key investment and diversification strategies for the foundation’s $8 billion endowment and managing its team of investment analysts,” an NYU news release said.
Knudsen “brings excellent experience to the position, and impressed me and members of the investment committee with her insights, her understanding of NYU’s needs, and her team management skills,” said Martin Dorph, executive vice president, in the news release.
An NYU spokesman didn’t return a request for additional information.
