Anne-Claire Roux was named executive director of the Mirova Forward Endowment Fund, a spokeswoman confirmed.
The philanthropic vehicle, launched at the end of last year, has an initial budget of €4 million ($5 million) and will be funded by Paris-based money manager Mirova's future financial results, she added.
The role is new and Ms. Roux works in close collaboration with a number of departments and Mirova's executive committee. She is responsible for managing, developing and sustaining the endowment fund; managing and implementing projects that will be chosen for the fund's actions; setting up the organization and tools necessary to deploy the fund assets; and creating partnerships with other stakeholders and foundations to support the development of impact finance.
Ms. Roux reports to Philippe Zaouati, CEO of Mirova.
The endowment fund will enable Mirova "to create a 'laboratory' where we can try out new ideas and 'experiment' in the public interest," Mr. Zaouati said in a news release. The endowment supports impact investment inside and outside France, covering sectors including ecological transition, energy insecurity, gender equality, and forest and ocean conservation.
Mirova is an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers.
Ms. Roux was CEO of Finance for Tomorrow, a Paris-based initiative promoting Paris as a leader on green finance.
