Iowa State University Foundation, Ames, posted a net return of 39.4% for its endowment for the fiscal year ended June 30, said a report on the university foundation's website.
The return was above the $1.3 billion endowment's benchmark of 35.9%. The endowment grew $348 million over the year.
Longer term, the endowment saw net annualized returns of 14.1%, 12.7% and 8.8% for the three, five and 10 years ended June 30, respectively, vs. their respective benchmarks of 11.8%, 11.1% and 7.4%.
Returns by asset class were not provided.
The endowment's asset allocation as of June 30 was 53% equities, 20% private equity, 13% diversifying equity, 8% fixed income and 6% real assets.
