Duke University's endowment returned a net 55.9% for the fiscal year ended June 30, bringing its asset size to a record $12.7 billion, said Steve Hartsoe, university spokesman, in an email.
DUMAC, Durham, N.C., which manages the endowment and other long-term investment assets, also reported annualized net returns of 18.9%, 16.4% and 11.6%, respectively, for the three, five and 10 years ended June 30.
The endowment returned a net 0.7% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020. As of that date, the endowment had $8.5 billion in assets.
The university did not disclose benchmark information or returns by asset class.
Asset allocation information is not yet available, Mr. Hartsoe said.
