Leena Bhutta was named chief investment officer of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, New York, effective Jan 1.
Ms. Bhutta, currently the $2.4 billion foundation's deputy CIO, will succeed Jeffrey Heil, who is retiring as the CIO on Dec. 31, according to a July 29 news release. Mr. Heil has been CIO since 2003.
Before joining the foundation in 2019, Ms. Bhutta was director of alternatives at the $417 million Hollyhock Foundation, New York.
"The foundation has not announced any plans for the future team structure of the investment office," said Doris Duke Charitable Foundation spokeswoman Kristin Roth-Schrefer.
