Peter Holland, president and CEO of Columbia Investment Management Co., New York, will retire effective Sept. 30, said Robert Hornsby, a university spokesman, in an email Wednesday.
Columbia University President Lee C. Bollinger appointed a search committee to conduct a national search for a successor. Andrew F. Barth, chairman of Columbia IMC, will serve on that committee, as well as a number of current and previous trustees.
IMC oversees Columbia University's $10.95 billion endowment.
