Gareth Mostyn was nominated to be secretary and CEO of the £8.3 billion ($10.5 billion) Church Commissioners for England, London, said a spokesman for the endowment.
If confirmed, effective Feb. 1, 2020, he will replace Andrew Brown, who will retire Jan. 31, 2020.
Mr. Mostyn will be responsible for strategic leadership of the investments team, among other duties.
Mr. Mostyn is currently chief finance and operations officer for the National Church Institutions of the Church of England. The organization will conduct a search for his replacement if his appointment is confirmed.
The appointment is subject to approval by the Church Commissioners at a meeting to be held in November.
