Tarek Saghir was named chief investment officer of Brandeis University, overseeing the investment management of the Waltham, Mass.-based university's $1.2 billion endowment, he confirmed in an email Monday.
Mr. Saghir had served as interim CIO since March 2022 when Nicholas A. Warren left the university to become CIO of the $11 billion endowment and foundation business of Glenmede Trust Co., Philadelphia, where he succeeded the retiring Stephen C. Lehman.
Before he became interim CIO, Mr. Saghir was director of investments for the endowment. He did not say whether he had been replaced in that role, and spokeswoman Julie Jette could not be immediately reached for further information.
