If you're familiar with finance, savvy on savings, and plugged in on policy, the Bank of England has the quiz for you — and there's the opportunity to win cash in the process.
The central bank is giving U.K. citizens aged 18 and over the chance to win up to £1,000 ($1,273) in cash over the next several weeks, while building their knowledge of economics and personal finance. The bank is funding the prizes, a spokesperson said, adding that the total amount of prize money awarded over the six weeks that the quiz is running for is £4,200.
The bank is partnering with social media group LADbible and other financial content creators for its Mind Your Money quiz. Each week, the quiz will focus on a different theme, with the first looking at savings. Other topics include budgeting, investment, inflation and monetary policy.
Quizzers first watch a short educational video on the theme and then have to answer four questions. Those answering each question correctly will be entered into a prize draw.
“The Bank of England has an important role to play in improving financial literacy in the U.K.,” said Andrew Bailey, governor of the bank, in a news release. “We know younger people could use more support to build their financial literacy and this campaign aims to help them do just that.”
The quiz runs until March 1.
