Michael Consorte was named director of university benefits at State University of New York, Mr. Consorte confirmed in an email.
He replaces David Morrell, who left SUNY to pursue other interests.
Mr. Consorte will oversee the Albany-based university's $20 billion in defined contribution assets in two 401(a) plans and a 403(b) plan. He reports to Paul N. Patton, vice chancellor of human resources.
Mr. Consorte was an institutional relationship manager at Capital Group/American Funds. Spokesman Tom Joyce could not be immediately reached for additional information.
