Brian Bender, a former executive with Charles Schwab, has joined Principal Financial Group to lead the large-market segment of the firm's U.S. retirement business.
He succeeds Joleen Workman who retired at the end of 2023, a Principal spokesman said.
In his new role as vice president of the large market, Bender will oversee strategy and customer care relationships. He will also coordinate with the head of the small- and mid-market segments to develop products and services within their respective segments.
Bender was previously with Charles Schwab where he led workplace financial services, worksite wealth strategies, retirement plan services and stock plan services over a 17-year period.
