Will Hansen will take over as the Plan Sponsor Council of America's executive director effective Jan. 1, the organization said Tuesday.
Mr. Hansen will retain his current responsibilities leading the American Retirement Association's government affairs team. Chicago-based PSCA joined the Arlington, Va.-based ARA, an umbrella association containing four other retirement industry trade groups, in late 2017.
Jack Towarnicky, PSCA's current executive director, will move to a new position — principal researcher — to help build and expand the organization's current research capabilities as part of an initiative led by Nevin Adams, ARA's chief content officer.
"We are excited about expanding our research focus, and thrilled to have talented professionals like Jack, Nevin and Will on hand as we continue to enhance and expand the PSCA membership," ARA CEO Brian Graff said in a news release.
Mr. Hansen joined the ARA in January. He previously served as senior vice president of retirement and compensation policy at the ERISA Industry Committee, where he led ERIC's efforts to develop and advocate for retirement and compensation public policy priorities.
