James Veneruso was named senior defined contribution strategist at Legal & General Investment Management America.
He replaces Michael Sowa, who left the firm earlier this year, a spokeswoman said in an email. Mr. Sowa is now vice president, business development at Benetic, a technology-oriented retirement services provider.
Mr. Veneruso, who joined LGIMA on Oct. 4, reports to Robert Capone, head of defined contribution.
Mr. Veneruso was previously senior vice president, defined contribution plan consulting at investment consultant Callan. A Callan official, who would not provide further information, said Mr. Veneruso left the firm on Oct. 1.
As of June 30, Legal & General Investment Management America had $257 billion in assets under management. Of that total, $8.6 billion was for defined contribution plans, the LGIMA spokeswoman said.
