Alight has named Dave Guilmette chief executive officer, the company announced in a news release Aug. 26.
Earlier this month the company announced that Stephan Scholl was stepping down as Alight’s CEO and member of the board as part of the company’s succession planning.
Guilmette will continue as vice chair of the board. The former CEO of Global Health Solutions, a multibillion-dollar division of Aon, has served on the Alight’s board since May 2024.
Scholl will remain with Alight as an adviser for six months and continue to help advance the company’s strategic initiatives, Alight said.
The CEO transition follows the sale of the company’s payroll and professional services businesses.
“I am honored to lead Alight at this pivotal time,” Guilmette said in the news release. “Our technology transformation and recent divestiture have laid the groundwork for us to emerge as a much stronger company with a significantly improved financial profile.”
William P. Foley II, the company’s board chair, commended Guilmette for his industry leadership and thanked Scholl for his service. “I look forward to working closely with Dave and thank Stephan for his tireless efforts in setting the vision for Alight’s future.”
With Scholl’s departure, the board now consists of 10 rather than 11 directors.
