The CalSavers Retirement Savings Program oversight board extended the registration deadline for employers in the state with more than 100 employees to Sept. 30 from June 30.
"Business owners are facing unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 emergency," said California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, chairwoman of the California Secure Choice Retirement Savings Investment Board said Wednesday in a news release. "We hope this action will help employers as they navigate through this difficult time."
The $2.8 million fund is a defined contribution plan for private-sector workers in California who do not have access to a retirement plan sponsored by their employers.
