Tony Rooke was named director of climate transition risk at Willis Towers Watson's climate and resilience hub, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Mr. Rooke provides advice and analysis to help clients with the switch to a low-carbon economy.
The firm's climate and resilience hub helps investors to manage their climate-related risks and opportunities.
"Tony's long experience and technical expertise and leadership (are) widely respected, and it is exciting to bring him onto our platform to work at the heart of the financial sector and corporate markets. Tony is helping us deliver the innovative and cutting-edge solutions being sought by our clients, to help them adapt and win the new economy," Rowan Douglas, head of the climate and resilience hub, said in a news release Tuesday.
Mr. Rooke was global director for disclosure at CDP, formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, which is a non-profit organization and environmental disclosure platform. Details of his replacement could not be learned.
