Troy Saharic was named principal and director of new business development at NEPC, a spokeswoman confirmed.
The position is new. Mr. Saharic, who started Monday, reviews and develops NEPC's new business processes. At first, he will focus on the firm's $45 billion outsourced chief investment officer business before later expanding his efforts to review its full sales process.
He reports to Steven F. Charlton, partner and director of consulting services.
Mr. Saharic was senior partner and global segment leader at Mercer, where he was responsible for driving the growth of advisory and discretionary services for defined contribution plans and global master trusts. A spokeswoman for Mercer could not immediately be reached for comment.
NEPC advises on $1.1 trillion in client assets globally.
