David Bird was named head of DC platform at investment consultant Cardano U.K., a spokeswoman said.
The position is new, and Mr. Bird joined Monday. He leads Cardano's defined contribution business, focusing on single employer defined contribution plans and investment and risk management advice to trustees.
Mr. Bird was director and head of proposition development at the £7.5 billion ($9.3 billion) LifeSight, Willis Towers Watson's multiemployer defined contribution plan. Mr. Bird's replacement has not yet been appointed, a WTW spokesman confirmed.
Also at Cardano, Stefan Lundbergh was named head of DC design for the group, the spokeswoman added. The role is new.
Mr. Lundbergh, director of Cardano Insights, will also continue in this position.
Mssrs. Lundbergh and Bird work closely with Cardano's £1.5 billion multiemployer plan, NOW: Pensions, London, which was acquired by Cardano in 2019.
"David's knowledge as a platform specialist combined with Stefan's expertise in pension design will be extremely beneficial to our clients. Their experience will both complement and strengthen our existing teams as we continue to grow our DC business," Kerrin Rosenberg, CEO at Cardano U.K., said in a news release.
Cardano has £14 billion in assets under management and £40 billion under advisory in the U.K.
