Andrew W. Conner joined Asset Strategy Consultants as the firm's first chief investment officer.
Mr. Conner, who started Nov. 1, leads the firm's outsourced investment strategy, confirmed Satish Sarangarajan, a company spokesman.
Asset Strategy Consultants has $10 billion in assets under management or advisement, of which about $1.2 billion is managed on a discretionary basis in OCIO strategies for the firm's institutional clients.
Mr. Conner was deputy chief investment officer in the office of finance and administration at Johns Hopkins University, which manages the Baltimore-based university's $4.2 billion endowment.
Karen Lancaster, a spokeswoman in the university's communications department, could not immediately comment on Mr. Conner's replacement on the endowment investment team.
