He will succeed Alan Biller, founder of the firm, said Jim Rankin, chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Mr. Biller will take on the new title of chairman, Mr. Rankin said.
Mr. Skjerven’s start date has yet to be determined, but it will likely be in April, Mr. Rankin said.
Mr. Skjervem is currently director of the investment division and chief investment officer of the Oregon State Treasury where he leads the Oregon Investment Council, Tigard, which oversees the investments of the $81 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, Salem.
Mr. Skjervem, who joined Oregon in 2012, will leave March 31, spokeswoman Rachel Wray said.
In an email to his team shared by Ms. Wray, Mr. Skjervem said: “Leading the OST Investment Division over the past 7+ years has been, without a doubt, the highlight of my professional career. I am immensely proud of the progress we have made together. I’m prouder still of the truly world class investment organization we have built, and its hugely accretive financial impact on Oregon and the many beneficiaries we serve.”
