What we need
The SBA is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager- External Management to join the Fixed Income team. The Senior Portfolio Manager – External Management is responsible for oversight of the external managers and manager aggregates and supervising a team tasked with supporting these responsibilities.
What you’ll do
- Provides broad oversight of external Fixed Income managers
- Oversees manager aggregates
- Supervises External Manager group
- Collaborates with the Senior Investment Officer-Fixed Income on opportunities to improve implementation of the SBA’s Fixed Income portfolios
- Demonstrates ability to effectively manage human and financial resources
- Develops, implements and monitors strategic plans, or works in collaboration with the senior leader over the department, to contribute to the success of the department/unit and the overall organization
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you should have
Nine years of related experience. A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of direct experience; 2 years for an associate’s degree, 4 years for a bachelor’s degree, 6 years for a master’s degree, 7 years for a professional degree, or 9 years for a doctoral degree.
Preferences:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in finance, mathematics, accounting, economics, business, or a related field
- Seven or more years of related experience
- Three or more years of related supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of finance
- Master of Business Administration or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in finance, mathematics, accounting, economics, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant certificate from the Florida State Board of Accountancy or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of fixed income portfolio construction and risk measurement and management
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with comprehensive knowledge of finance and investment concepts
- Critical reasoning skills, with the ability to question and understand strategy and portfolio construction
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Skill in developing performance analysis, including attribution of fund performance, and interpreting risk analysis
- Ability to manage or mentor staff to meet organizational goals and objectives
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Travels occasionally to various locations throughout the United States. Involves occasional work outside of normal business hours and working remotely to maintain contact with external research sources and maintains normal office-related duties
Hiring Range: $143,600 - $225,000
