Senior Investment Sales Specialist (OCIO)
Position Description
•The Senior Investment Sales Specialist (OCIO) is the key link between the senior portfolio managers and the senior sales team. Has a significant role in new business origination and client relationship management and acts as the technical expert on specific investment products and services and the outside marketplace.
•Acts as the technical expert on the bank's products and services as they relate to the competitive aspects of the investment marketplace.
•Partners with the Sales team to make customized sales presentations to the clients utilizing knowledge of Investment products and services.
•Frequently initiates contact with other financial or competitor institutions, and internal partners. Keeps abreast of laws and regulations affecting the industry and maintains knowledge of investment products and services.
•Is a technical expert and provides thought leadership on specific investment products
•May mentor more junior staff
•Promotes the company and its products through industry conferences and periodicals as an attendee, speaker, or interviewee. Participates in committees or board meetings to present new sales services or products. Oversees regulatory compliance issues involving client relationships.
•Reports on performance of strategies/portfolios, explaining returns across multiple relevant dimensions of attribution.
•Supports on-going research efforts related to portfolio design, analytic techniques or risk management by:
1.Reading current and relevant papers
2.Contributing to discussions on topics of interest
3.Conducting thoughtful and accurate analysis
4.Expressing recommendations for improvement
5.Supporting research/data infrastructure as required
•Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise
•Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities
•Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
•Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
Position Requirements
•A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required
•In depth knowledge of investments products and services usually acquired through related work experience as a portfolio manager.
•Presentation skills and the ability to market and sell the bank's products and services are required to generate client sales.
•Knowledge of investment terminology, characteristics of the various marketplaces, the laws and regulations governing trust investments and taxation, the bank’s investment policies, procedures, and strategies, acquired through work experience and formal education, is required to understand the portfolio management and investment research activities.
