Private Markets Portfolio Analyst
Under the supervision of the Executive Director/Chief Investment Officer (“ED/CIO”), the Private Markets Portfolio Analyst is responsible for coordinating the administration of the private markets portfolio and working cooperatively with external providers retained by the Board to manage the private markets portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Private Markets Portfolio Analyst is responsible for assisting the ED/CIO in the management of the private markets portfolio, as well as for maintaining subject matter expertise of all private asset classes, markets, and the global economy. He/she will have the following specific responsibilities, which shall include, but not be limited to:
- Monitor private markets portfolio to ensure it meets Board objectives. Keep ED/CIO apprised and suggest recommendations about changes to the policy guidelines, including relevant benchmarks, for those portfolios.
- Assist the ED/CIO in maintaining and updating the private markets portfolio.
- Act as liaison with private markets investment consultant. Facilitate the efficient flow of information between private markets investment consultant, ED/CIO, staff, and other investment professionals.
- Act as liaison between FPIF and private markets GPs and investment advisors. Work with ED/CIO, private markets investment consultant and relevant staff on developing investment guidelines for each investment and monitor to ensure that investments are made in accordance with those guidelines.
- Assist private markets consultant and ED/CIO in due diligence of potential private investments.
- Assist the private markets investment consultant in planning and contributing to the development of the Board’s risk management systems. In conjunction with service providers, maintain input or data quality of the Board’s risk management systems.
- Monitor and encourage the Board’s diversity initiatives.
- Work with private markets consultant investment consultant to prepare performance and investment reports for the total fund including plan attribution and peer group attribution analysis.
- Under supervision of ED/CIO and in consultation with relevant staff and private markets investment consultant, manage fulfillment of private markets capital calls.
- Continually assess and determine optimal investment-related services and software. Advise ED/CIO on same
- Perform portfolio research on an ad hoc and ongoing basis. Present research and findings to ED/CIO and staff.
- Prepare private markets-related materials for presentation to the Board of Trustees and Investment and Operations Committee.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Professional experience in the financial services industry preferred.
- Applied experience with institutional investments preferred.
- Experience with public sector investment portfolios preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 required.
- Familiarity with other applicable software applications preferred.
Salary Range
$60,000 - $80,000
