The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) is seeking a chief actuary to join our Finance Management team. Under the direction of the deputy executive director — Finance, and Chief Financial Officer, this position will plan and manage all actuarial activities and will be responsible for day-to-day actuarial operations and inquiries. This includes overseeing the preparation of data for annual independent actuarial valuations for STRS Ohio’s pension and health care funds, as well as working closely with the consulting actuary for completion, review and presentation of annual valuations and other analysis prepared for these funds to the stakeholders and the STRS Ohio retirement board. This position will also manage projects, ad hoc calculations and special studies as needed, including answering technical questions regarding data, trends or results.
STRS Ohio currently manages investment assets of about $92.8 billion, including defined contribution assets of more than $2 billion.
