James Wright was appointed head of the institutional investor group at Northern Trust for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Mr. Wright takes on an expanded role to his previous one as head of the institutional investor group for the U.K., Middle East and Africa. He takes on responsibility for Europe from David Wicks, head of continental Europe, who has retired, she added.
Mr. Wright is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the unit for EMEA. The institutional investor group provides services to more than 330 clients with $2.3 trillion in assets under custody across the region. Northern Trust has a total $14.5 trillion in assets under custody and/or administration.
