Caroline Higgins was named head of Northern Trust's asset-servicing business in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, while assuming executive management responsibilities for the Hong Kong office.
Ms. Higgins replaces Michael Wu, a spokeswoman for Northern Trust said. Mr. Wu, who was also head of Northern Trust's Beijing branch, is leaving the company, she said. Mr. Wu couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Ms. Higgins was Northern Trust's Hong Kong-based head of global fund services for Asia. She was replaced by Iain Carey, head of hedge fund services, Asia-Pacific. A replacement for Mr. Carey has not yet been named, the spokeswoman said.
Also, Julie Zhu, deputy Beijing Branch manager, was promoted to branch manager, responsible for Northern Trust's asset-servicing business in China.
Both Ms. Higgins and Ms. Zhu will report to Angelo Calvitto, Northern Trust's newly appointed head of the Asia-Pacific region.
