John Ferrara was named managing director and head of sales and relationship management for BNP Paribas Securities Services' institutional investors client segment in the Americas, Paris-based international bank BNP Paribas announced Monday.
Mr. Ferrara assumed the newly created position effective Sept. 15, a BNP Paribas spokeswoman said. Based in New York, he reports to Dennis Bon, head of the Americas, and Alvaro Camunas, global head of client development.
Mr. Ferrara was a director at Citigroup, where he led sales for the asset manager segment for custody and fund services. Citi did not respond to a phone call seeking comment.
"The institutional investor segment is a key area of focus and growth for BNP Paribas Securities Services," Mr. Bon said in a news release Monday. "We have made significant investments in the space to serve both our local and global client base over the past few years, and I am very pleased to welcome John to our team to continue to drive our business forward."
A wholly owned unit of BNP Paribas, BNP Paribas Securities Services is a global custodian and securities services provider. It had $11.8 trillion in assets under custody as of June 30.
