Japan's ¥150.7 trillion ($1.39 trillion) Government Pension Investment Fund on Monday posted a request on its website for information on private debt.
The announcement, in Japanese and English, requests information "on private debt, such as privately placed bond, bank loan, direct lending, real estate non-resource loan and infrastructure debt," while soliciting suggestions for subsequent research the fund should pursue.
The announcement said Tokyo-based GPIF will accept responses June 10 through noon Japan standard time on June 28.
The fund asks interested parties to fill out a form attached to the announcement on the GPIF website and submit it by email, with the subject "RFI: Research Study on Private Debt."
For further details, GPIF requests that questions be sent via email to its investment strategy department at [email protected].
The announcement said the request for information could be followed by an RFP for research. Additionally, GPIF may commission research and/or conduct joint research based on the information it receives.
A GPIF spokeswoman declined to provide further details.
